Economic Research Center issued the inflation indicators within July, 2010
Economic Research Center (ERC) is presenting the results of prices of statistical observation conducted in 22 regions of Azerbaijan throughout July 2010 within the framework of “Calculation of alternative inflations level and development of models” funded by the Government of Switzerland..
According to the statistical observation conducted by ERC, the consumer price index has been increased up to 0,29 % within April in Azerbaijan. Following this, it has risen up to 0,34 % in Baku and at the regions this figure recorded 0,24%. Within seven months of this year 1,77% inflation has been recorded in Azerbaijan. In comparison to July of previous year, the consumer price index has been increased up to 5,55%. The indices regarding prices, total tariffs and groups for this period have been registered as follows:

[17.07.2010] Economic Research Center issued the inflation indicators within June
Economic Research Center (ERC) has presented the results of prices of statistical observation conducted in 22 regions of Azerbaijan throughout June 2010 within the framework of “Calculation of alternative inflations level and development of models” funded by SECO. For this purpose, the chairman of ERC Management Board Gubad Ibadoglu revealed the results in the press conference hosted by ERC. According to him, the consumer price index has hiked up 0,91 % within June in Azerbaijan. Following this, the prices have soared up 0,62 % in Baku and at the regions this figure recorded 1,19%. Within six months of this year 1,48% inflation has been recorded in Azerbaijan.
In comparison to June of previous year, the consumer price index has been increased up to 5,87%. The indices regarding prices, total tariffs and groups for this period have been registered as follows: ...

Economic Research Center (ERC) is presenting the results of prices of statistical observation conducted in 22 regions of Azerbaijan throughout May 2010 within the framework of “Calculation of alternative inflations level and development of models” funded by SECO.
According to the statistical observation conducted by ERC, the consumer price index has been increased up to 0,06 % within April in Azerbaijan. Following this, it has risen up to 0,06 % in Baku and at the regions this figure recorded 0,05%. Within five months of this year 2,41% inflation has been recorded in Azerbaijan.
In comparison to May of previous year, the consumer price index has been increased up to 6,52%. The indices regarding prices, total tariffs and groups for this period have been registered as follows:

Economic Research Center (ERC) presented the results of prices of statistical observation conducted in 22 regions of Azerbaijan throughout March 2010 within the framework of “Calculation of alternative inflations level and development of models” funded by State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO.
According to the statistical observation conducted by ERC, the consumer price index was increased up to 0,70 % in Azerbaijan. Economic Research Center ERC presented the results of prices of statistical observation conducted in 22 regions of Azerbaijan within the framework of “Calculation of alternative inflations level and development of models” which is financed by SECO. INPUT MARKET IN AZERBAIJAN
One of the greatest challenges of economic management in the country is to diversify the economy in the face of growing dependence on the oil sector. Therefore, development of rural areas is a priority for Azerbaijan with the agricultural sector being a key to this development. The agricultural sector is the most important source of employment in Azerbaijan. Agriculture accounted for approximately 5.9 percent of GDP in 2008 - the largest economic sector in Azerbaijan after oil, construction, transport and comunication. Agriculture’s share of employment has increased to 38.8 percent in 2008 from approximately 31 percent in 1990.

The Economic Research Center (ERC) completed the Alternative Household Budget Survey Methodology Development initiative supported by USAID’s Civil Society Project and Counterpart International. In order to continue improving the welfare of the population the Government of Azerbaijan adopted the State Program on Poverty Reduction and Sustainable Development (SPPRSD) for 2008-2015. Research Report - Household Budget Survey Methodology Evaluation
This report is released by the Economic Research Center (ERC) in the framework of the Alternative Household Budget Survey Methodology Development initiative supported by USAID’s Civil Society Project and Counterpart International. In order to continue improving the welfare of the population the Government of Azerbaijan adopted the State Program on Poverty Reduction and Sustainable Development (SPPRSD) for 2008-2015. This created new opportunities for civil society organizations (CSOs) and other public stakeholders to become involved in monitoring the implementation of welfare programs. In-depth studies conducted by ERC showed that an intervention for the alternative evaluation of the household budget survey (HBS) methodology was essential in strengthening the SPPRSD.

[15.01.2010] The State Budget is getting more and more dependent upon oil factor...
The budget of the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan has been approved just recently. Income part of the SOFAZ budget was confirmed to be 5.963 billion and expense part 5.428 billion. This indicates to the fact that State Oil Fund will spend almost all its money - 91%. The majority of expenses will be transferred to State Budget.

[12.01.2010] ERC held a seminar for economics teachers in Guba
Economic Research Center (ERC) has been conducting seminars for economics teachers for 5 years with financial support of the US Council on Economic Education. During the winter holidays of the schools seminars are conducted mainly for math, physics, geography and history teachers of secondary schools teaching economy every year. The following seminar was conducted in Guba on “Introduction to economy and teaching interactive methods of economy”. About 25 teachers of secondary schools teaching economy in Guba, Gusar, Khachmaz, Siyazan and Davacahi districts participated in the seminar.
